About the Olympiad

A regional tradition since 1993.

The Balkan Olympiad of Informatics gathers the top secondary-school programmers from across the Balkans for two days of algorithmic problem solving. Contestants compete individually, but the spirit is unmistakably collective — built on decades of friendship between our national informatics communities.

In 2026, Albania has the honour of welcoming delegations from Bulgaria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, and Turkey — together with guest teams from beyond the region.
